The Stone Hill Story

Stone Hill began with a passion for cacao and a desire to create cacao products that reflect the character of Vietnam. From the cacao-growing regions and the farmers who care for the trees to every stage of production, we value the people and places that shape our journey.
With a tree-to-bar approach, Stone Hill focuses not only on the flavor of cacao and chocolate, but also on preserving the value of our cacao origins and building a long-term journey together with cacao farmers.

The Man Who Planted the Seeds of Our Cacao Story

Dr. Pham Hong Duc Phuoc laid the foundation for Stone Hill with a belief that Vietnamese cacao could create products with distinctive character and value.
Driven by his passion for cacao and years of working closely with cacao-growing regions, he helped shape the early story of Stone Hill : from developing cacao cultivation and working alongside farmers to researching and developing cacao-based products.
These values continue to guide Stone Hill as we follow a tree-to-product approach, carrying the story and character of our cacao origins into every product we create.
.

“I determined that for Vietnamese cocoa to thrive, we had to develop our own Vietnamese cocoa varieties.”

Dr. Pham Hong Duc Phuoc

The People Behind Our Cacao

Behind every cacao product are people who dedicate their time and care to each cacao tree through every growing season. Farmers are not simply cacao growers; they are essential partners in creating the quality and character of our cacao.
At Stone Hill, we value our relationships with cacao farmers and the communities connected to our growing regions. From caring for the trees and harvesting the fruit to selecting suitable cacao pods, every step contributes to the quality and distinctive character of Vietnamese cacao.

Sustainable Farming : Growing Together with Cacao

A healthy cacao farm needs more than healthy trees and good soil. It also depends on an ecosystem that is carefully maintained over time.
At Stone Hill, we aim to support farming practices that encourage balance within the cacao ecosystem, reduce unnecessary disruption, and make use of natural approaches in caring for the trees.
We believe sustainable cacao is not only about producing cacao today, but also about preserving the conditions that allow cacao trees, farmers, and the land to continue growing together in the future.

Yellow Ants : Small Protectors of the Cacao Farm

In a cacao farm, every living organism has a role to play within the ecosystem. At Stone Hill, yellow ants are part of our natural approach to managing insects in the cacao farm.
Rather than relying solely on chemical control methods, maintaining beneficial organisms such as yellow ants can help support the management of harmful insects while contributing to a more balanced cacao ecosystem.
Small details, from a colony of ants moving along a cacao branch to the organisms living around the trees, can all contribute to a healthier farm and a more sustainable approach to growing cacao.

From the Cacao Tree to Vietnamese Values

From carefully tended cacao trees in our growing regions to every finished product, Stone Hill values the journey behind Vietnamese cacao and the people who make it possible. We believe every product carries more than the character of its origin. It reflects the cacao tree, the farmers, the land, and our commitment to a more sustainable way of creating value. Through our journey from tree to finished product, Stone Hill continues to explore the potential of cacao from Vietnam and share its story through our cacao products.
